GAME BOARD

This application was designed exclusively for the Microsoft Surface Pro computer with a touch screen. Players face eacdh other with the computer oriented between them and make their moves by touching the screen. The Game Board allows a player to select a move by ckicking or touching the square on which the piece lies and then selecting the square to which the player wishes to move the piece by clicking or touching that square. If the move is legal, the originating square background will turn green and the square movee to background will turn red. The player then needs to click or touch their MOVE button which will pause their timer and start the other players timer.

Once your opponent makes a legal move, the background will revert to it's previous color and your opponent's move will be highlighted with the green/red move indicators.

If the score was tied then the game would end in a draw. Note that the score is represented in the white and black boxes accordinly on each side of the game board.

If a player move paces the opponent in check, an indication will be displayed next to the RESIGN button on that player's side of the game board.
